I’m currently pursuing a diploma in business studies. I also took Higher Chinese in secondary school so I am pretty familiar with both English and Chinese. I believe that it is very important to be bilingual as many business opportunities require bilingual personnel. I also took up a third language, Japanese. I am rather familiar with the basics of it.

Experiences

I have three working experiences in total and they allowed me to acquire different experiences. I worked as a sales promoter for Converse and I actually work there almost every holiday.

I also worked as a Haagen Dazs promoter for their new ice cream flavor thus I have some experiences of coming in contact with customers and counting stocks.

I am also teaching Chinese tuition currently so I am upgrading my Chinese language constantly. Lastly, I attended OBS (Outward Bound Singapore) Camp in Secondary school to challenge our mental and physical ability. We also had chances to organize and lead the group.

These four experiences allowed me to possess good personal skills and knowing how to communicate with customers, having leadership and be confident.

CCA

I was in the volleyball school team in secondary school and i have a strong passion for it. I took part in many inter-school competitions won awards for 3 consecutive years.

Apart from being a mere member, i also assisted the captain to plan activities and trainings apart from our trainings in school to bring the team’s bond closer. It is very important to have communication and understanding within a team, not only in CCA groups but in the workforce as well.

I am currently in Ice Skating club in Ngee Ann and planning to join Volleyball as well as I love sports and have a passion for it! I believe that it is important to be active in sports as well to have a balance in life, and to do well both academically and non-academically.

Human Resource Executive

I am a sociable person who likes to mix around with people and make more friends. I believe that it is important to be sociable as personal skills are very important in the society. I am also an optimistic and cheerful person where i believe that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Being an effective learner and a trustworthy person is extremely important so as for people to have trust in you to handle the work, which are attributes that i have.

Planning events are my interest and i often would help out in planning class chalets or barbeques. However, i like to plan my things well before starting to do them as it will be more systematic hence I will do things a little slower. But as the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race!

It is also important to know how to use the computer for example Microsoft word and Microsoft excel which I am quite familiar with. We learnt a module called DSS (Decision Support with Spreadsheets) which teaches us some of the functions of excel.

As a Human Resource Executive, these are the qualities one should possess. I feel that having passion for the job would allow me to do better in the job.
